AFG Group Participates in GSA’s Mentor-Protégé Program

RICHMOND, Va. - Sept. 30, 2014 - PRLog -- AFG Group, Inc. recently joined GSA’s Mentor-Protégé Program as a Mentor to the Atlanta based Protégé firm, VYD and Associates (VYD).

The General Services Administration’s Mentor Protégé Program is sponsored by the agency’s Office of Small Business Utilization. GSA established the program to increase the overall number of small businesses receiving GSA awards and enhance their capability of performing successfully on GSA projects.

VYD provides services in: Management and Strategy Consulting; Performance Measurement and Evaluation; and Program, Portfolio and Project Management. VYD is a certified 8(a) firm, Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone), Economically Disadvantaged Woman Owned Small Business (EDWOSB), Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB), and Minority Business Enterprise (MBE).

AFG is pleased to take part in developing a future GSA trained firm to support upcoming projects. AFG will assist VYD in enhancing their management capabilities by mentoring VYD on contract reporting procedures; quality assurance and insurance; project management standards; FAR requirements; safety and badging requirements; and multi-task management.

Through this collaboration, both AFG and VYD receive exposure to new business ideas and the opportunity to compete for additional Federal government contracts.
