MIAMI - Sept. 30, 2014 - PRLog -- The Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series jury panel has selected Miami fine art photographer Margaret “Peggy” Moizel as a semi-finalist in its esteemed competition, securing this local artist the chance to display her work at Miami’s Art Basal as well as a solo exhibit at the SCOPE NYC show in Spring 2015.

Daniel Simmons, Jr., renowned abstract-expressionist painted and older brother of hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons and Rapper Joseph Simmons (Reverend Run of Run DMC), and Andre Guichard, the Series National Curator and owner of Gallery Guichard, reserved a spot in the finals for Moizel’s iconic “Kumbh Marigolds” photography series.

Eager art enthusiasts can now join in on the selection process by voting online (https://www.bombayartisan.com/submission/show/10244) for their favorite works of art in the series. Voting is officially open through November 9. Voting is limited to one vote per entry per day. Vote for Margaret Moizel photography now.

“It seems like yesterday that I was peering into my camera lenses waiting for the perfect moment to click my shutter button at the Kumbh Mela in India last year,” Moizel said. “A chance to display my passion at the most prestigious art show is a thrill.”

The Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series semi-finalists’ work will be displayed in the Brisky Gallery Miami from October 11-26, and will be available for sale. The official regional event will take place October 11, at the Brisky Gallery Miami from 7-10 p.m. The event will highlight the works of 20-30 Miami metro-area artists during a 10 market juried exhibition.

With an appetite for adventure, curiosity for culture and passion for producing the highest quality photography and prints, Margaret Moizel is on a mission to connect people who share a love for fine art to unusual cultures, unique places and historical objects.

“Fine art photography is my love, my passion,” Moizel said. “Because I have the ability to visit such elusive places and peoples, I want nothing more than to be that window that people can use to peer into and learn about such fascinating, raw moments in time.”

Moizel studied photography in Miami, New York and as a resident student at Maine Media in Rockport, Maine. She honed her photography and printing skills under the tutelage of many fine contemporary photographers and master printers.

Printing her own images, Moizel boasts exceptional control of each photograph that is produced. She also prints using alternative process such as gelatin transfers, various custom substrates and diverse media types.

Having traveled the world for the past 30 years, Moizel has accessed some of the most exclusive, and seldom captured, cultures and sites that only the local peoples would know about.

With more than 50,000 stunning photographs in her repertoire, Moizel has traveled from Sidi Bou Said (Tunisia), to parts of Northwest China with the Chinese government, and nearly every other country in between.

The Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series hosts regional competitions throughout the U.S. Each regional winner will receive round-trip travel to Miami during Art Basal, where their work will be exhibited at SCOPE Miami and during the Artisan Series Finale event on December 4. One winner and two runner-ups will be chosen at the Artisan Series Finale. The Finale winner will have a solo exhibit at SCOPE NYC in Spring 2015. Voting (https://www.bombayartisan.com/submission/list) plays a key role in deciding the winner and runner-ups.
