One Underwear for Every African Boy Child

KENYATTA AVENUE, Kenya - Sept. 29, 2014 - PRLog -- I am Freddy Ndungu from Africa country called Kenya. I grew up in a rural environment setup and I underwent the usual challenges of an average village boy.

From walking to school barefoot to not wearing underwear to school. Some of these challenges affected my performance in school in terms of academic and social behavior.

One thing that lacked during those times was someone who could provide assistance on the same. This was because the economic strength in the rural setup was abit wanting and most of concentration was on food and basic needs like shelter.

Its for this reason that we have registered a community based organization (Empower Boy Child Network EBCN ) which with assistance from my fellow comrades / colleagues we usually try to achieve our mandate of empowering African boy child. Most of organizations have concentrated a lot on girl child thereby neglecting the boy child.

Our main activities involve :
Advocating for boy child rights
Awareness training to boy child
Programs geared towards empowering the boy child like : shoes, socks, underwear.


We currently have a project where we are targeting about 2000 boys to be able to give them underwear. This is a basic need in this fast changing world. Most of these boys will fill as full human beings which will boost their morale in school thereby improving academic wise.

We are therefore appealing for your support of USD 4000 to be able to achieve our target. We already have pooled about USD 1200 for the same course amongst our friends and colleagues.

This donation and support will go along way to buy underpants for every African boy child. This is the starting point. We are currently discussing the issue of designing a more locally available and cheaper underwear for boys aged between six and twelve years. We plan to sustain this program through that
