Founded in 1857, Kuala Lumpur or KL as it is more affectionately known is a perfect representation of the harmoniously multi-racial Malaysia. From its humble beginnings of a tin mine city, KL has progressively transformed into one of the most developed capital cities of Southeast Asia. Once you are here, it’s hard to miss KL’s world-famous landmark - the soaring Petronas Twin Towers, and the surrounding attractions that host cultural elements from Malay, Chinese and Indian, the three largest ethnics of the country. From luxury shopping to eco-tourism to street food, Kuala Lumpur has much to offer every type of traveller.

Apart from Kuala Lumpur, visitors can also connect to many other great domestic Malaysian destinations through the AirAsia network. For those who prefer beach holidays, they can fly to the island of Langkawi, or Kota Bharu, which is the gateway to the famous Perhentian Islands. History buffs can visit UNESCO Heritage Sites of Georgetown, Penang or the city of Melaka, which is just an hour’s drive away from the airport, KLIA2. Foodies will also find Malaysia one of the best places to enjoy all sorts of cuisine, not only from the local ethnicities but also from all over the globe.

AirAsia currently provides 52 weekly direct flights from Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata and Tiruchirappalli to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Meanwhile, guests from Chennai can also connect directly to Bangkok-Don Mueang with 5 times weekly flights.
