RENO, Nev. - Sept. 27, 2014 - PRLog -- Would you like to know what's in the ocean from the coast to 20 miles off the coast between San Francisco and Cabo San Lucas Mexico? Are there turtles and whales, fish and birds? Boats and debris? Is there Styrofoam and plastic floating out there? Is the water or debris radioactive? Ocean Nation's first production will enrich us with a film documenting the nature, wildlife, debris and surprises found during a month long sail.  They'll also land in Cabo during the recovery effort from Hurricane Odile. For teens Liam-19, Alex-17, and Cody-15, this ultimate experience will deepen their intimate bond with nature while filming the ocean. The boys will set sail with Intrepid's owner Tim Brill on October 18th to join the Baja Ha Ha 2014 Cruisers Rally. The crew requests your support  in two ways:  financial support to cover expedition costs, and social media support through Likes, Shares, Tweets and Posts.  Please LIKE at http://facebook.com/ocean.nation.org,    SHARE this story using the social media icons on this page, and GIVE a financial donation to the campaign at http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/ocean-nation-baja-ha-ha--2.

A Deeper Journey

To step aboard Intrepid is to find out what it takes for people to live and work successfully together to create an amazing ocean journey. They'll read charts, steer, set course and sails, and spend time getting to know their crew members while sailing and filming, exploring islands, learning sea navigation, cooking and sleeping aboard the boat, and working together to keep running on course.

Navigation, winds, waves, tides and currents are bound together like intricate puzzle pieces. The'll journey to and around islands off the coast of Southern California and the Baja Peninsula and learn the lessons of the ocean - everything is connected.  It takes teamwork to achieve goals, and everyone will need to collaborate, and also lead at sea. This sailing expedition will awaken the knowledge of deep wells of self-empowerment as each of them will likely be challenged to take on more than they believe to be their limit. These lessons will help set their course in life and enrich their film project

About Intrepid

Intrepid made its mark in history when Zac Sunderland used her for his solo sailing trip around the world in 2008.  After a 13-month circumnavigation, Zac sailed into the history books becoming the youngest person and first person under 18 to sail solo around the world.

Now upgraded, this new generation of young explorers will use this historic, proven ‘blue water’ cruising vessel on their first off shore journey along the coast of California and Baja Peninsula.

Along the way, they will be ambassadors for Ocean Nation community, documenting the overall state of ocean as they see it.  http://facebook.com/ocean.nation.org (http://ocean-nation.org./)  Back home in Reno, Nevada, they will analyze their findings and produce their first ocean documentary, Ocean Nation Baja Ha Ha.
