Don Barnhart Brings Hypnotic Hilarity Back To Loonees In Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Sept. 27, 2014 - PRLog -- Beginning Oct 9-11, comedy hypnotist Don Barnhart returns to Loonees Comedy Corner with his hysterical comedy hypnosis show.

Barnhart just returned from the Middle East touring for the troops and made a special appearance at the Laughlin Comedy Festival.  Barnhart, along with Larry The Cable Guy, Dana Carvey, Chris Kattan,Tim Meadows, MaryEllen Hooper, Felipe Esparza and Debbie Praver are just some of the acts that were appearing in the three-day long festival.

Barnhart was recently named “Best Bet” by the Las Vegas Review/Journal and his company, Don Barnhart Entertainment is independently producing shows for the military as well as working with Armed Forces Entertainment to bring as much comedy to the troops as possible.  Following his shows, Barnhart will take out comedy legend George Wallace to visit the troops serving in Asia.

The multi-talented comedian, actor and hypnotist just wrapped up production on the new film, Tribute To Fluffy directed by Micah Cyrus.  In the movie, Barnhart plays a sarcastic, bitter and road weary comedian, which is nowhere near his true persona.  Barnhart, not being one to stay idle was headlining Brad Garrett’s Comedy Club at The MGM Grand Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, NV in between scenes in the movie.

Don is the author of the upcoming book, Comedy 101 and stars in the documentary, Finding The Funny with Brad Garrett, Louie Anderson and Wendy Liebman from America’s Got Talent.  He is also in preproduction on the film, Freeloader that he wrote and will star in.

Freeloader is the story of a returning Vet that ends up homeless on the streets of Vegas and becomes the Robin Hood of the disenfranchised.  “I have to get in shape for the film”, said Barnhart in a recent interview.  He continued, “And I mean military shape.  My wife is thrilled that I may actually have a six pac on my belly and not in the fridge.”

Featuring for Barnhart is Charlie McMullen who is originally from Pueblo, CO and has been doing stand up comedy all over the state for the last 4 years, delighting audiences with his frustrated absurdist brand of humor.  In that time, he's hosted weekend-long engagements at Loonees in Colorado Springs 7 times, performed at the legendary Comedy Works in Denver 3 times, and co-founded Steel City Stand Up -a collective of Pueblo comedians who jump-started the stand up scene there in 2010.

When not doing stand up, Charley is an award-winning karaoke host, having won the Gold Award for Best DJ in the 2012 Best Of Pueblo city-wide survey.  He's also garnered a respectable cult following as a cartoonist, having illustrated regularly for PULP magazine and created the comic strips The Men From Cyclopolis and Freaky Deaky (the latter co-created with Justin Morenz), which were published by The Pueblo Chieftain's weekend magazine Beyond The Fold from 2009 to 2012.  He's also a filmmaker and actor, working several times a year with Pueblo's The Impossible Players.
