CHICAGO - Sept. 26, 2014 - PRLog -- (CHICAGO) -- When Poonam Gupta-Krishnan launched Technology Innovation Summit (TIS) four years ago she knew she was on to something.  TIS was created in collaboration with experts in the fields of technology, innovation, leadership and community development, to focus on the interplay of innovation, technology and government and highlighting best practices for deploying technological innovations, benchmarking operational excellence and spurring economic revitalization.

Fast forward to 2014 and Gupta has launched the Government Technology Foundation to further her goals of bringing technological innovation to government.  The Foundation will focus on harnessing predictive analytics, Big Data and future technology in an effort to create efficiencies in government and spur economic development.  Founding directors  of the Foundation are Ellen Turner, president and CEO, The William Everett Group; Praveen Gupta,  director, corporate quality at Prysm, innovation thought leader and author; and Jim Treleavan, CEO VSG, consultant, speaker and educator.

GTF will host a launch event on March 26, 2015 at 20 N. Upper Wacker Drive (The Civic Opera House Building), #1200 from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m.  The event will include a vendor fair, cocktail reception and GTF’s first Innovator Awards.  This event, originally set for October 2014, was moved to accommodate the overwhelming interest in the organization.

“Year one for GTF will be focused on building our board, creating relevant public-private partnerships and engaging some of the thought leaders that were part of TIS”, said Gupta.  In terms of work agenda we will be focused on increasing efficiency in the field of public safety, all while spurring economic development thereby creating jobs.”

With a focus on predictive analysis, the Government Technology Foundation will serve as a pivot point for the public and private sectors to maximize some of these long standing issues.  GTF will be a clearinghouse for the most up-to-date research coming from institutions focused on government technology, provide new and innovative approaches in the sector as they are developed and offer educational resources to help all parties keep up-to-date on innovations and changes.
