HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. - Nov. 12, 2014 - PRLog -- Every holiday season the members of the Hillsborough Gallery of Arts (HGA) transform the Gallery with original ornaments and gifts for their group show entitled The Art of Giving. Gallery members work in many different mediums and with a wide range of prices.

HGA not only offers gift certificates but has a Wish List Book that allows customers to select the perfect gift for themselves and have the gallery contact the person they hope will purchase it for them. Purchases can even be completed over the phone and the gift either picked up at the gallery or shipped.

The Hillsborough Gallery of Arts offers paintings by Chris Graebner, Marcy Lansman, Eduardo Lapetina, Jude Lobe, Lolette Guthrie, Michele Yellin, Pat Merriman, Ellie Reinhold and Linda Carmel. The painters’ styles include representational and abstract work in a wide range of sizes, prices and mediums – including oils, acrylics, watercolor, encaustic and mixed media. Several artists also create wall mounted folk art houses and painted birds.

The gallery also offers a range of textile art by artists Alice Levinson, Ali Givens and Susan Hope. They offer framed pieces for the wall and sewn or woven scarves, shawls, tree ornaments and unique table linens.

At the Hillsborough Gallery of Arts you will find framed and unframed photographs by award-winning photographer Eric Saunders and Pat Lloyd as well as prints and cards from many member artists.

Jewelry may be the perfect gift for someone on your list. HGA has metalsmith jewelry in silver and precious stones by Arianna Bara, enameled and etched silver by Nell Chandler, fused glass jewelry by Pringle Teetor, Susan Hope and Mark Kinsella, kumihimo beadwork by Pat Lloyd, as well as copper and mixed media jewelry by Lynn Wartski, Jude Lobe, Ali Givens and Pat Merriman.

Four of the gallery's members: Pringle Teetor, Susan Hope, Mark Kinsella and Christopher Burnside specialize in working with glass – stained, kiln-formed, fused and blown. The gallery carries stained glass window hangings and lamps, vases, trays, coasters, solar garden lights, glass balls and more.

You can find gifts for every occasion at the Hillsborough Gallery of Arts. How about a hand-carved clay bowl, vase or platter by potter Garry Childs?  Or a bowl turned from local wood by Pat Lloyd?  Member artist Lynn Wartski offers unique doll sculptures and other works using copper and mixed media.

The Art of Giving runs from November 11th until January 4th with an Opening Reception on Friday November 28th from 6 - 9pm.
