130 Supporters of the HOW Foundation of South Florida

To THIRD THURSDAY FUN-RAISER

(Delray Beach, FL – September 24, 2014)  Cathy Balestriere, general manager of Crane’s BeachHouse Hotel & Tiki Bar, played host to around 130 supporters of the HOW Foundation of South Florida, including former NFL Dolphin Mark “Super” Duper and his wife Carolyn, to this season’s second THIRD THURSDAY FUN-RAISER on September 18.

The nonprofit HOW Foundation, based in Delray Beach, provides hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) grant funding for those in need and educates the community on the medical uses of HBOT. The organization is currently focused on helping veterans suffering from traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder, as well as providing access to HBOT for the healing of sports injuries, stroke, cerebral palsy, Autism, and more. "Our first HOW Foundation of South Florida event (hosted at Crane's Beach House) exceeded our expectations in every way,” said Executive Director Sarah Crane.  “We could not have been more thrilled with the generous turn out and level of giving from our community. We are particularly grateful to our event chair Carolyn Duper and her husband, Mark, for their tireless efforts in helping us raise awareness of the critical importance of treatment for sports related and all brain injuries.”

Other highlights of the event include the excellent food catered from Caffè Luna Rosa, an exciting raffle, a talented steel drummer and an appearance by the Amazing Mr. A.

The next next Fun-Raiser at Crane’s BeachHouse will be the 8th annual PR YAK-YAK, which will be held on October 23. Hosted by the Gold Coast Public Relations Council and PRSA – Palm Beach, this annual meet-and-greet attracts numerous public relations and marketing professionals as well as local print, broadcast and online journalists.
