On Wednesday, October 1, 2014 Atria Hamilton Heights will host the Virtual Dementia Tour® presented by Second Wind Dreams. The tours will take place between 8am – 6pm.
Consumers interested in gaining a greater understanding of the impact of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias are invited to participate. The one- hour session will feature the internationally known Virtual Dementia Tour®, a scientifically proven method of building a greater understanding of dementia through the use of patented sensory tools and instruction. The public is invited to attend this event at Atria Hamilton Heights, One Hamilton Heights Drive, West Hartford, CT 06119. Reservations are now being accepted for the sessions. The Virtual Dementia Tour® is an immersion experience simulation of dementia created to teach people about the physical and mental challenges facing those living with dementia. The VDT® both helps people caring for those with dementia provide better care and offers hope to caregivers, providing tips and tools necessary to create an environment that supports the needs of those with the disease. Many people from elder care communities, corporations, caregivers, first responders, healthcare providers, municipal employees and nonprofit organizations across the country have experienced the Virtual Dementia Tour®.
