HONG KONG, China - Sept. 25, 2014 - PRLog -- For 35 years since 1 October 1979, MTR has been on a shared journey with Hong Kong, growing hand-in-hand with the city, connecting communities with safe, reliable and efficient train services. To celebrate 35 years of serving Hong Kong, a special “MTR 35th Anniversary Souvenir Ticket Set” will be made available to passengers starting from 19 October 2014 for four consecutive weeks.

"The story of MTR can be told through the many experiences and memories of our passengers over the years. By arranging a variety of activities to mark our 35th anniversary, we have been indulging in collective memory with our long-time customers while taking the younger generation back in time for a glimpse of the early days of MTR. We hope that our specially designed 35th anniversary ticket sets will provide passengers with lasting mementos of MTR’s shared journeys with Hong Kong,” said Ms Jeny Yeung, Commercial Director of MTR Corporation.

The full series of souvenir tickets includes four sets entitled "Connecting", "Contributing", “Caring" and “Reaching”. Priced at HK$98, each set comprises one MTR souvenir ticket*, a specially designed ticket holder and a designated City-Go-Around model set featuring one mini electronic toy train, two station entrances, more than ten model buildings and twenty pieces of track and base. The first souvenir ticket set will be available for sale on 19 October, with the other three sets following on 26 October, 2 November and 9 November. Furthermore, another four models of mini electronic toy trains / bus specially priced at HK$48 each (retail price HK$65 each) will also be on sale throughout the promotion period for passengers to bring home for more joy and fun.

Connecting (First Set)

Available from: 19 October 2014 (Sunday) while stocks last

Available from: 2 November 2014 (Sunday) while stocks last

Available from: 9 November 2014 (Sunday) while stocks last

Ticket Validity: From date of purchase to 30 December 2014 (Tuesday)

Each souvenir ticket is valid for one single journey to any destination on the MTR* on or before 30 December 2014 (Tuesday) and can be kept as a souvenir after use. Malfunctioning tickets should be exchanged on or before 30 December 2014 at any MTR Customer Service Centre (except Airport Express, Light Rail, Lo Wu and Lok Ma Chau stations). Tickets sold are non-refundable and non-transferable.

The ticket sets will be available for sale at all MTR Customer Service Centres** (unpaid area) on the above mentioned dates from the start of MTR train service while stocks last. Each person is limited to two sets per purchase. For details, please visit www.mtr.com.hk.

MTR Club members can make advance purchase of the full series of souvenir ticket sets and four models of mini electronic toy trains/ bus online through the Corporation’s website at www.mtr.com.hk from the afternoon of 29 September to 9 October 2014.

* Each ticket is valid for one single journey to any destination on the MTR on or before 30 December 2014, except Airport Express, East Rail Line First Class, journeys to or from Lo Wu and Lok Ma Chau stations, Light Rail, MTR Bus and MTR Feeder Bus. If the ticket is used to travel to either Lo Wu Station or Lok Ma Chau Station in breach of the Terms and Conditions, the holder is liable to pay the full single journey fare between the station of entry and Lo Wu Station or Lok Ma Chau Station. The ticket will then be returned to the holder for use on a valid journey.

** Except Airport Express, Light Rail, Lo Wu, Lok Ma Chau and Racecourse stations.
