Startup Pitch Finalists at Bay Area Capital Connections Conference to Launch Indiegogo Crowdfunding Campaigns

Four companies selected to pitch at the 2014 Bay Area Capital Connections Conference will launch crowdfunding campaigns through Indiegogo. These four companies, plus three others, were selected to participate in the Startup Pitch Showcase through a partnership between The Alliance for Community Development and DRÆM VENTURES. The partnership was formed to increase access to capital for startups with diverse founding teams focused on making a positive economic, environmental, and social impact.
OAKLAND, Calif. - Sept. 25, 2014 - PRLog -- Four of the startup company finalists selected to pitch at the 2014 Bay Area Capital Connections (BACC) Conference: Funding Impact Entrepreneurs  are set to launch their crowdfunding campaigns through Indiegogo on October 9, 2014.   With support from the partnership, they are set to launch their crowdfunding campaigns through Indiegogo on October 9, 2014.  Through The Alliance for Community Development of the San Francisco Bay Area (ACDSFBA) and  DRÆM VENTURES, each company will run its own campaign, but will also be featured together on a shared Indeigogo Partner Page.  The Indiegogo Partner Page will enable The Alliance for Community Development to promote and track the progress of all the campaigns, and will reduce the fees for the participating companies.

The four startups launching their crowdfunding campaigns on October 9 are:

●     Favalife, Hattem Nigma, CEO: A natural foods company manufacturing artisanal fava bean hummus and spreads.

●     International Breast Milk Bank, Glenn Snow, CEO: A human milk bank increasing the supply of human breast milk to hospitals.

●     Pollen, Binta Ayofemi, Founder: A sustainable research startup where plants meet code.

●     Scrumpt, Bri James, CEO: Kid friendly food, delivered.

Alisa Cordesius, Cause Manager from Indiegogo, is working directly with all of the companies to launch the crowd funding campaigns.  Cordesius is an expert on crowdfunding and she really knows what it takes to run a successful campaign.  Cordesius will be on hand to answer questions and share her expertise in the crowdfunding panel at the 2014 BACC Conference entitled Crowd Funding Opportunities and Pitfalls.  Also featured on this panel are Ari Eisenstat, CEO at DRÆM VENTURES, Brian Friedman, CEO of Loopd.com, Katy Levinson, the COO of Crooked Tree Studios, and Bill Reichert, Managing Director at Garage Technology Ventures.

●     eHarvestHub, Alvaro Ramirez, CEO: Affordable and usable  cloud platform for Mid-Small-farmers to sell directly to retailers.

●     Ladada, Laura Moreno, CEO: A fashion subscription service with a shopping experience unique to the customer.
