Follow on Google News | Full Agenda, Keynote Speakers Set for New Jersey’s Celebration of National Manufacturing DayThe New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program, Inc. is announcing the details of the full agenda for the state’s Made in New Jersey event in celebration of National Manufacturing Day.
By: NJMEP The occasion will celebrate the importance of New Jersey’s manufacturing sector. The first part of the event, 7:30am to 12:15pm, will have a “Building a 21st Century Manufacturing Economy” theme. This portion of the celebration will include networking opportunities, keynote speeches by U.S. Senator Cory Booker and New Jersey Department of Labor Commissioner Harold J. Wirths and panel discussions on topics such as workforce development, recruiting and retention, innovation, growth, supply chain development and logistics. Click here (http://www.njmep.org/ The second part of the event, 12:30pm to 2:30pm, will feature the Inaugural NJBIZ / NJMEP Manufacturing Awards to honor New Jersey manufacturers in a variety of categories. “New Jersey’s manufacturing community is vital to our state’s economic growth,” says Lynore DeSantis, NJMEP’s Chief Financial Officer and organizer of the Made in New Jersey event in celebration of National Manufacturing Day. “This annual celebration recognizes how crucial manufacturing is to our economy and spreads awareness about the diverse positions in our sector.” National Manufacturing Day was established in 2012 to expand the knowledge about and improve the public’s perception of manufacturing careers and the industry’s value to the U.S. economy.
