Autumn Harvest Bowl Disc Golf Event for the Food Pantry of Waukesha County

WAUKESHA, Wis. - Sept. 24, 2014 - PRLog -- CHANGE OF VENUE– The location of the Autumn Harvest Bowl previously planned for Miniwaukan Park in Mukwonago has been moved to Christ the Servant Lutheran Church of Waukesha, WI.  Details are below.

Christ the Servant Lutheran Church of Waukesha, WI (www.christtheservant.org) is having its first annual “Autumn Harvest Bowl” on its beautiful 6-acre grounds on October 5, 2014.  The event is an intergenerational disc golf putting and distance throwing contest that is open to members of CTS, friends and family, and the entire community.  The entry fee for the event is a donation to the Food Pantry of Waukesha County.  Prizes will be awarded based on disc golf achievement; however, the big awards will go to those donating the most food in four categories:

·         Overall largest quantity of items donated

·         Largest quantity of Preferred Food items (canned fruit, canned meat, canned vegetables, cereal, boxed meals/macaroni & cheese, pasta, PB & J, cream soup, chunky soup, stuffing and gravy)

·         Largest quantity of Special Diet Program items (low-sodium soups, no- or low-sugar items, powdered drink mixes, fruit packed in water or its own juice, soy or rice milk)

·         Largest quantity of Infant and Toddler items (regular or soy-based formula especially Good Start brand, Stage 2 and 3 baby food, diapers and wipes, baby powder, diaper rash cream)

The approximate schedule of events is as follows:

8am – 12:45pm:

o Drop off your food donation in the “Little Red Truck”

o Participate in a raffle of Brewers memorabilia and other items (proceeds go to the Food Pantry)

11:45am – 12:45pm:

o Compete in the disc golf contest

o Attend a free seminar on how to disc golf presented by Mike Ellery, Professional Disc Golf Association #28371

11:45am – 1:00pm:

o Support the CTS Youth Group brat stand (proceeds go to the Food Pantry)

1:00pm:  Award the prizes

There is no need to pre-register for this event.  You may just come!
