Music Therapy and Autism Connect Will Premiere at Imagine Short Film Festival

CHICAGO - Sept. 24, 2014 - PRLog -- On Saturday September 27th from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM Imagine Supported Living Services will host its 3rd annual disability short film festival and fundraiser at the Museum of Art and History in Santa Cruz, CA.  The mission of the film festival is to celebrate members of the community who are living with developmental disabilities.

"Music Therapy and Autism Connect", executive produced by Chicago entertainer Kris Warren is one of many films being showcased.

Speaking on the film Warren said "This short film is part of a full length documentary about Music Therapy titled Music Is My Therapy: MusicTherapyDocumentary.Com.  Autism is one of the many populations Music Therapy caters to.

I had the pleasure to witness Karen Hook working on motor, social, and attention goals with these children. It’s amazing the gains that are possible when incorporating music" He concluded.

Karen Hook, a Registered Music Therapist for over 30 years specializing with children on the Autism Spectrum said "With the increasing rise in the incidence rate of Autism Spectrum Disorders, it is important that more people know how effective Music Therapy can be with this population.  I am looking forward to seeing the completed movie at Saturday's premier!"

Imagine Supported Living Services is a 501(c) (3) public charity providing over 11,000 hours of direct support services to adults living in Santa Cruz County diagnosed with a developmental disability.
