Prime 8 'Beats the Bridge' for health to help beat diabetes

SEATTLE - Sept. 24, 2014 - PRLog -- Seventeen Prime 8 Consulting employees and employee family members joined company founders Drew and Nicolette Sharp to participate in the 32nd annual Nordstrom Beat the Bridge race to help beat   diabetes. The Nordstrom Beat the Bridge to Beat Diabetes is a fundraiser for JDRF – the leading global organization funding type one diabetes (T1D) research. The event consists of an 8K run and wheelchair race, a 4-mile walk, a 1-mile fun run, and the Diaper Derby for toddlers. The event is called Beat the Bridge because the course travels over Seattle’s University Bridge, which is raised during the race.

“Prime 8 is proud to support JDRF” commented Drew Sharp, CEO and co-founder of Prime 8 Consulting. “And we are proud that both our immediate family and our extended Prime 8 family was able to join with us to support such a worthy cause as fighting type-1 diabetes”. Drew, his wife and Prime 8 co-founder Nicolette, their children and Prime 8 consultants and consultant family members participated in the 10km, 5km and diaper dash portions of the annual Beat the Bridge ever.  Added Nicolette, “Beat the Bridge provided Prime 8 with an opportunity to bring our employees together for the 2nd year to support an amazing cause and to have fun training together for the race. We plan to make Beat the Bridge a part of Prime 8’s ongoing commitment to the community we live and work in.”

About JDRF:

JDRF is the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. Our goal is to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people’s lives until we achieve a world without T1D. JDRF collaborates with a wide spectrum of partners and is the only organization with the scientific resources, regulatory influence, and a working plan to end T1D.

As successful as JDRF has been, there is a still a large gap between where we are now and what we need to deliver life-changing therapies in the future. JDRF funds more than $100 million in T1D research each year, and has $530 million currently at work in programs around the world. But it is not enough.

The JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes raises money that allows us to direct even more funding toward T1D research. Sign up for the Walk today and join us in turning Type One into Type None
