Operation Restoration Impacts Deployed Service Members and Local Veterans

LOGANVILLE, Ga. - Sept. 23, 2014 - PRLog -- HeroBox teamed up with The Home Depot’s Logistics department this past week for an amazing service opportunity. During a two day renovation of American Legion Post 233 the Home Depot team took a short break to pack HeroBoxes for deployed service members. In one hour Home Depot employees, along Home Depot vendors, filled and packed 1,000 HeroBoxes. “We couldn’t be happier with the event. It was incredible to see the Home Depot crews come together and knock out such a large amount of HeroBoxes in such a short time,” stated HeroBox Executive Director Ryan Housley.

HeroBox also had the opportunity to help out the American Legion Post directly. Tiffany Dillard, Program Director of HeroBox, elaborated by saying “We usually have left over items at every event that we take back with us to repurpose. But through this event we had the opportunity to donate all of the leftover hygiene and snack items directly to Post 233. They can give these items directly to veterans in need in Loganville, so it really brings our event full circle.” HeroBox is thankful for their partnership with The Home Depot Foundation and for their mission to serve both the military and veterans across the country.

Herobox is a nonprofit organization with a mission to provide the physical and moral support our heroes need while they are away from home. We are able to achieve this mission through programs that are designed to engage America’s greatest resource—the people.
