A New Era In Child Safety Online

Network Innovative Concepts prepares to launch a software solution called SafetyNET™, which is unlike anything that has been seen before. The objective is online safety and security for children.

PITTSBURGH - Sept. 23, 2014 - PRLog -- Radpidly growing a reputation for mobile device repair and website design, Network Innovative Concepts (NIC) should not be overlooked for their expertice in software development.  The company is launching what is quickly being rumored to be, "the most robust tool available to protect children and families while they use the computer."

NIC's lead software developer, Mark Thomas, who also has over a decade of experience in network security, said "There are a lot of dangers online.  Children and adults alike are subject to predators, bullies, fraud, harassment, stalking and more.  Up to this point, there have been tools created by various companies that protect our actual equipment; our computers, our routers, our servers, our networks, etc.  One key vulnerability has always been the safety of the actual user.  Nothing has been in place to protect the most important, the actual user.  Firewalls can protect you from malicious websites, but with social media outlets such as Facebook, there has never been solutions to protect you or our children from actual people."

SafetyNET™ To The Rescue

SafetyNET™ is a concept that began in early 2014 as a way to provide protection to children who use social media and to give parents an added peace of mind. while their children use the internet.

Statistics show that over 1 million children are exploited online every year, while countless others are bullied and harassed.  Social media sites such as Facebook allow the user to block others who harass them, but also allow offenders to easily create new accounts to resume the predatory behavior.

Time after time we see news stories about children who have been exploited online.  So many in fact that it has sparked widespread investigations into social media websites such as Facebook ("Investigation claims Facebook a target of child predators (http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/story?id=3645840)").  With the increasing popularity of websites like Facebook, there are also an increasing amount of dangers and predators taking advantage of those that use those websites (Sex predators target children using social media (http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/tech/news/2011-02-28-onlin...) -- USA Today).  Sometimes these dangers create situations that spiral out of control before anyone notices, such as the case with the widely known story of Amanda Todd, which migrated from sexual exploitation to bullying and harassment, and ultimately lead to the 15 year old girl taking her own life. (The Story of Amanda Todd (http://www.newyorker.com/culture/culture-desk/the-story-o...) -- The New Yorker).

Network Innovative Concepts does not claim that SafetyNET™ can stop all of these dangers.  However, what SafetyNET™ does, is makes it a lot easier for parents to recognize and prevent situations that endanger their children, while making it quite a bit more difficult for offenders to get away with their offenses against children online.

So how does SafetyNET™ work?
Network Innovative Concepts is pretty tight lipped about "how it works" but are open to discuss "what it does."  in fact, when asked how it works, lead developer Mark Thomas admits "As a trained seasoned hacker and programmer, I have used tools and methods in the past for this craft.  Many use these tools and methods for malicious purposes.  What we have done is refocus these same concepts and methods into a positive solution."  What the SafetyNET™ does is just as impressive as the implications of that statement.

What it actually does:

- Monitors ALL computer usage, not just websites or online activity
- Gives parents a clear view of what their children are seeing/viewing
- Collects logs and reports (including real-time screenshots) to help provide evidence against predators and offenders
- Password protected console so that it cannot be disabled
- Runs silently on the computer it is installed on (invisible to your children)
- Past logs are accessible through the use of calendar logs
- Real-time notification vis email or text messaging.
- Logs text that is typed.
- Keeps track of the computer's logged in user
- Keeps parents in the loop so that they can step in before a situation gets out of hand
