AP in 3 Film Challenge Returns

ASBURY PARK, N.J. - Sept. 23, 2014 - PRLog -- ArtsCAP, the Arts Coalition of Asbury Park and The ShowRoom Cinema are joining forces once again to bring filmmaking to everyone in the community.  From October 15 through 18, novices and experienced filmmakers alike will take to the streets to capture the spirit of Asbury Park with the Film Challenge’s directive of SHOOT, EDIT, SCORE…WIN!

“Capturing life on video has become so common place in recent years, “ said Ginny Otley, ArtsCAP President.  “The AP in 3 Film Challenge gives individuals the opportunity to go beyond merely pointing a camera and telling a short story with the technology. This event fits perfectly with our mission of promoting the arts as a positive force for growth in Asbury Park.”

Teams competing in the AP in 3 can register online at http://TheShowRoomAP.com.  Once registered, they will pick up their registration packets with instructions for the Challenge on Wednesday, October 15.  On Saturday, October 18, at the conclusion of the 72-hour time period, all films must be completed and delivered to The ShowRoom Cinema.  AP in 3 submissions will be screened by a panel of judges and first-place winners, as well as runners-up will be selected. The Top 10 entries will premiere in front of a live audience on Sunday, October 19 and prizes will be awarded.  The audience will also have a chance to indicate their opinions with a vote for the most popular film.

“The AP in 3 Film Challenge blends creativity, community and filmmaking into an event that is, at the heart of what The ShowRoom Cinema is all about,” commented Mike Sodano, co-founder of the theater.  “Through our partnership with ArtsCap, everyone can have the opportunity to tell a story on video and have their work shown in front of a live audience on the big screen.”
