CHESTER, U.K. - Sept. 23, 2014 - PRLog -- CHESTER’S Forum Shopping Centre is preparing for an extra bumper Christmas this year following the decision by fast-growing B&M, one of Britain’s most popular variety retailers, to take an entire 10,000 sq.ft floor of the Northgate Street Retail Complex to replace the former T J Hughes store.

And the new store, which plans to open its doors to the public on Friday October 24th, creating 50 new jobs in the city, will be at the head of an eclectic and exciting line-up of new retailers who will begin trading at the popular Chester centre in the run-up to Christmas.

B&M will be joined at the centre by a host of newcomers including Food & Freezer, Shoe Zone and beauty business Beautonic, who are currently moving into various units around the shopping centre.

“We are delighted to welcome the new arrivals because we know they will offer our shoppers a most significant increase in choice,” said Forum Centre manager Mr Lawrence Allen. “And what a time to join us?  By Christmas the Forum will be buzzing with new retailers and hopefully lots of new customers.

“The Forum’s success has always been based on its reputation as a centre where shoppers can find lots of choice and value for money. Our new arrivals will fit in to the centre perfectly alongside existing outlets including Pound World, Boots the Chemist, McDonald’s and Blackstocks fish and chips.

“The arrival of these new outlets, especially a company like B&M, will serve to underline this centre’s role as Chester’s leading value-for-money shopping destination,” added Mr Allen.

“The challenges facing the economy over recent years have had a financial impact on many people. So it’s good to see the Forum can continue to offer its regular shoppers access to the widest possible choice in value for money purchases in Chester.”

B&M Forum Store Manager Amanda Sullivan said: “Customers can expect to see a wide variety of branded and own label products including groceries and toiletries as well as an extensive non-food section including toys, soft furnishings, home and seasonal ranges.”

She also revealed that the search is on for a ‘Local Hero’ who will have the chance to be a VIP for the official opening of the store on Friday October 24th.

Heroes can be nominated by friends, family or work colleagues and could be someone who makes life better for people in the area, works hard for a particular cause or is renowned for their charity work.

Amanda added: “We wanted a true VIP to officially open our store and what better way than to ask customers to nominate those who make a real difference to people’s lives in and around Chester”.

“We’re not judging by age or the type of support, we just want someone who goes that extra mile and who we can give something back to for a change”.

Nominations are being accepted up to Friday 10th October and can be e-mailed to communications@bmstores.co.uk or posted to Chester Local Hero Search, B&M Retail Ltd, Dakota Drive, Estuary Commerce Park, Speke, Liverpool L24 8RJ.

The worthy winner will also receive £250 worth of vouchers to spend in store.
