STAG Group appoints head of new Aircraft Interiors Division

Sept. 23, 2014 - PRLog -- With a 25 year aerospace industry track record across structural fasteners, passenger / crew restraint systems, aviation leather and fabrics, Ian moves from the senior sales representative for the STAG Group, a post he has held since 2012.

Ian’s main focus in his new role as Director is to manage the organisation’s existing brands, namely Aircraft Components and Equipment Supplies (ACES), Flitetec and RACE Completions within the newly formed Aircraft Interiors Division. Commenting on his ambitions and objectives in the new post, Ian said:

“One of our main objectives is to provide weight reduction solutions, particular within the economy class market: we confidently predict increased adoption of our precision vacuum formed assemblies to offer weight-saving and enhanced aesthetic solutions. Polycarbonate has been under-utilised in this industry and its vacuum forming and weight saving potential is a major opportunity in the market.”

Announced at theAircraft Interiors Exhibition 2014, the newly formed Aircraft Interiors Division within the STAG Group specialises in products and support services for aircraft cabin interiors. Expertise is offered in the design, manufacture and maintenance of non-structural parts: specifically components and assemblies for manufacturers of crew / passenger seats, business class work stations, galleys, toilets and panels. Latches, hinges, seatbelts, leather and composite inserts are also supplied from some of the leading aerospace manufacturers.

The STAG Group (turnover circa £24m with sites in the UK, France and US) has two divisions: Spectech Supply Chain Services provides a complete aerospace and defence parts supply service and Aircraft Interiors focusses on design solutions for the aerospace cabin interiors market. Aircraft Components, Flitetec and RACE Completions are all brands within the Aircraft Interiors Division. Solutions are provided for fixed wing, helicopter, military vehicle and marine applications for an international client base in both the commercial and defence sectors.
