BOULDER, Colo. - Sept. 22, 2014 - PRLog -- Boulder, Colorado—22 September 2014Space company Uwingu announced today that its Beam Me to Mars project has added a major new and historic capability. Now, in addition to text messages and pictures, people can now beam their voice, their original music, or a friend’s/relative’s voice to Mars! Never before have private individuals been able to send their music, voice, thoughts in text, and names to Mars by radio transmission.

The project is hosted at http://www.uwingu.com and is a first of its kind, allowing anyone to send a message to Mars by radio for the first time.

Uwingu is also announcing that is has partnered with Astronomy Magazine to send the names of over 80,000 Astronomy subscribers to Mars—the first time any magazine or publication has radioed its subscriber roster to another planet.

Uwingu Beam Me to Mars messages can be as simple as a name, or can be more elaborate, including text, voice, music, and even images. Anyone can send messages to Mars. Message pricing begins at $5 and helps Uwingu create grants for space exploration, research, and education.

All messages in Uwingu’s ‘Beam Me’ transmission will be sent to Mars together at a rate of 1 million bits per second on November 28th. The messages will travel at the speed of light—arriving at Mars just 15 minutes after they are sent.
