DENTON, Texas - Sept. 19, 2014 - PRLog -- North Texas Multi-Media Personality Patrick Scott Patterson has announced he is teaming with the Video Game Voters Network and Rock the Vote in efforts to ensure video gamers are heard at the polls this November.

"We have political leaders in this country that continue disconnected attempts to tax or regulate video games," Patterson said.  "Our games are protected under the First Amendment and are far from the cause of the ills of our society.  These short-sighted political propositions are a waste of time and taxpayer dollars."

According to the most recent industry demographics by the Entertainment Software Association, 71 percent of video gamers are over the age of 18, with the age of the average gamer standing at 31 years old.  This is something Patterson thinks gives the power to the video game fans.

"More adults play video games than voted in all of the last election season," Patterson adds.  "Any political leader who wants to keep their job needs to realize that most video gamers can vote.  My team-up with the VGVN and Rock the Vote aims to make sure the gamers know that, too."

On September 11, the VGVN published a blog from Patterson, stressing the importance of video gamers coming together to help Rock the Vote (http://videogamevoters.org/news/details/patrick-scott-pat...)

"The real 'fight for video gaming' isn't taking place inside the video game industry bubble," Patterson added.  "It is taking place in the offices and meeting rooms in political circles.  We should be letting those leaders know we have the power to vote them out of a job if they continue to target the video game industry."
