Oakland in Motion Debuts First Ever App for Finding Local Events in Oakland

OAKLAND, Calif. - Sept. 19, 2014 - PRLog -- “The idea for a community app centered around Oakland and its neighboring areas first came to me in 2011,” says Oakland In Motion Founder, Yvonne Woods. “We worked with Town Wizard who helped develop our free Oakland city guide and eight months later we had our mobile app.”

Several years into developing, tweaking and building an additional tablet-friendly and desktop version, Oakland In Motion is the first-ever free mobile guide available for iPhone and Android devices. This app offers exclusive information about the Oakland community and features an app guide that has a News and Events page to talk about the happenings around town. In addition, the app features a photo and video page where users can post multimedia about life in Oakland. The app has also been further developed for tablet and desktop users as well.

For those looking for things to do in Oakland, using the app can help them find local restaurants, bars, cafes and other hot spots nearby. From there, users can pull up a map and get step-by-step directions from where they are to their selected event, attraction or restaurant and even make reservations without ever leaving the app.
