Follow on Google News | Fall Carlisle to Host Filming for a New TV series Contracted to Discovery’s Velocity ChannelShowgoers can meet "The Appraisers" as Part of the 40th Anniversary Event
By: Carlisle Events Filming for the 13-part series will span the full five days of Fall Carlisle with several of the stories being shot on location at Carlisle. Further, the show is hosted by a trio of automotive experts from varying walks of life. Hosts include Tom Cox, a self-described classic car guy who has been buying and selling cars since before he could drive; Chris Ritter, dubbed a car geek and more specifically the man who runs one of the largest automotive libraries in the world (AACA Museum in Hershey); and Ben Nef, a Vegas guy who deals in fast, expensive, high roller cars. Collectively and with the support of executive producers Chip Taylor and Simone McNaught, the program will scour all things automotive at Fall Carlisle, with a specific focus on tales of barn finds, long-lost items salvaged from under tarps or hidden in garages; stories of vehicles bought at auction for a song, car memorabilia found in attics and of bikes and trucks owned by ancestors long gone. “Carlisle Events has such a great reputation with car enthusiasts that it only makes sense to kick off filming at Fall Carlisle,” says Chip Taylor, Executive Producer of The Appraisers. “Our cast and crew are really excited to see what unfolds, with so many different kinds of cars, trucks, bikes and auto memorabilia for sale we know that our Appraisers will have endless stories to film.” “The Appraisers is a new type of car show that aims to appeal to both the avid car enthusiast and also to the viewer who simply loves a great story,” says Simone McNaught, Producer/Director. “We came up with the idea for the series after traveling to some car shows and listening to the conversations that enthusiasts had, the same questions were asked: where did they get it? How much did they pay for it? How much work was done to it? Was it original? What do you think it’s worth? It reminded me of why Antiques Roadshow has been so popular for years – so we thought, why not make a show for auto enthusiasts? As show content goes, The Appraisers is looking for people to appear on camera to have their car, truck, bike or auto memorabilia valued. To be featured on the program and to have the aforementioned items appraised or to simply know more about the history of the vehicle or memorabilia owned, the producers encourage hopefuls to e-mail the show ASAP at theappraisers@ End
