QNET ‘shocked’ at EOW highhandedness

MUMBAI, India - Sept. 19, 2014 - PRLog -- Direct selling company QNET has expressed its surprise and disappointment at the Mumbai police’s Economic Offences Wing has been dealing with highhandedness with the company’s India franchisee Vihaan.

"It is quite surprising and wholly disappointing that the EOW has seen to protract and take further inappropriate action against Vihaan and its Independent Representatives/distributors yet again,” a spokesperson for QNET direct selling company said.

“In the latest instance, another act of high-handedness has taken place in the purported guise of so-called investigations where in a lady named Susan Nikhil Chatterjee has been taken into “custody”.  It is shocking where levels are reached such that family members of distributors are harassed without any specific reason or any allegation,” the spokesperson said in a media statement. “

The spokesperson pointed out notable that a Court in Mumbai has pulled up the EOW for its delay in filing the charge sheet in the month of February 2014. However, there are yet to be any formal charges from EOW, let alone the conclusion of their “investigations” despite the inordinate time which has passed.

“Yet they are insisting, instead of placing their own affairs in order, to protract and deliberately harass family members of distributors. Yet despite it all, Vihaan has cooperated and continues with patience to comply with rules and regulations of business operations and law of the land,” the statement said.

“The company has also proactively cooperated with the legal authorities in the investigations. It must come to pass that such action must cease and a firm and fair closure of the matter is reached. Otherwise, such capricious action by the EOW will continue and adversely affect the business and reputation of the company and lives of its distributors,” the QNET spokesperson added.
