PHOENIX - Sept. 18, 2014 - PRLog -- Shade Projects proudly presents “The Body Remembers What We Forget” the highly anticipated solo exhibition of Bill Dambrova in shade gallery at the monOrchid. Dambrova implements familiar imagery of anatomy, cells, and more while abstractly depicting them and interconnecting the compositions. This exhibition is a refreshing take on the scientific and spiritual, making the viewer think about the connection the body and mind share. “My artwork is a layering of biological imagery using expressive mark making, art historical references and symbolism to tell stories based on events that I imagine are going on inside our bodies and our minds” said Dambrova. His love for anatomy, science, nature as well as spirituality take center stage in this exhibition, said Curator Nicole Royse.

With an extensive career as an exhibition designer Dambrova has worked in a variety of fascinating museums and centers handling art, artifacts, and biology. This is the inspiration behind his ever evolving artwork, which allows him to connect and interact with the viewer “utilizing themes that often occur in my work of physical healing, spiritual growth, animism, and silliness” states Dambrova. He has exhibited extensively in Arizona and California, most recently included in several group exhibitions including “Cross Current” at the Phoenix Merchandise Building, “Chimerical” at Modified Arts, “Pseudo Science” at the Frontal Lobe Gallery and “H20” at the Lodge. He was also the recipient of the 2014 Contemporary Forum Artist Grant from the Phoenix Art Museum. Most recently Dambrova was included in the Phoenix New Times 2014 edition of “100 Creatives”.
