Progressive Rock Band XNA Joins Reunion of Gabble Ratchet and Heliopolis for One Nite Only

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - Sept. 17, 2014 - PRLog -- Get ready to rock as prominent Los Angeles based  progressive rock band XNA comes to Thousand Oaks as a part of the NIGHT OF PROG with GENESIS tribute GABBLE RATCHET and the dynamic band HELIOPOLIS.

NIGHT OF PROG will bring the musical sounds of classic and new music together for ONE NIGHT ONLY—the fresh with the familiar—that promises to be a night of the most exciting music being performed anywhere.

Featured will be the band XNA, performing epic songs from their debut album When We Changed You, hailed worldwide as “The best of what classic melodic progressive rock should offer” (Craig Hartranft, Danger Dog Music) and “The most exciting prog rock release of the year.” (Brent Black, Critical Jazz)

XNA is a five-piece band whose accomplished musicians have toured with members of both YES and TOTO, Toni Childs and William Shatner. Their first album When We Changed You, released in late 2013 on Cleopatra Records, was produced by legendary musician/producer Billy Sherwood, known worldwide for his work with progressive rock legends YES. Sherwood enthuses, “XNA is amazing in both concept and performance--deep lyrics and music, very orchestral and dynamic, in the way old-school Genesis was done…everything it takes to make the perfect magical mixture.”  The XNA experience is a complete multimedia show accompanied by high definition video imaging, theatrical presentation, and a striking light show.

Headlining the evening will be the classic sounds of early GENESIS via the long-anticipated reunion of GABBLE RATCHET, who will present an all Peter Gabriel-era set list of GENESIS classics and deep tracks. More than simply recreating note-for-note renditions of this well-loved music, this group of working musos has long been heralded as unparalleled in bringing to life GENESIS of the early 70’s.  They infuse the pieces with dynamic passion and emotion, bringing immediate energy to these classics that cannot be matched.

Rounding out the evening will be new progressive Los Angeles band HELIOPOLIS, performing rock sounds from their debut album. No mere third act, this collective of incredible, consummate virtuosos, formerly of MARS HOLLOW and TED JINN, is set to take the world by storm with their soon-to-be-released, complex and highly satisfying debut which emphasizes melody, composition and improvisation.
