CLASS DETAILS: In this 6-week course, you will discover the basics of walking, gesturing, and eye focus through music and choreography. You'll be introduced to the techniques necessary to bring a marionette to life, including successful ways to handle the control bar, basic staging, and the fundamentals of string manipulation.

Limit: 8 Students per class

Instructor: Adrian Rose Leonard

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Adrian Rose Leonard started her puppeteering career in 2006 as a member of the Nashville Public Library’s Wishing Chair Productions and the Puppet Truck.

During this time, she was able to explore her mechanical puppet creativity, and in 2008 co-founded Mechanical Animals Puppet Caravan.

Adrian then moved to Los Angeles in 2011 and has been performing at Bob Baker Marionette Theater, where Puppet School discovered and recruited her talents.

MATERIALS: Owning or renting a marionette is highly recommended for practicing at home. We recommend the wooden marionette (pictured above)
