510nano and Partners Broke Ground on Tarboro NC Solar Facility

DURHAM, N.C. - Sept. 15, 2014 - PRLog -- On a sun shiny morning, Saturday, September 6, 2014, Congressman G. K. Butterfield delivered a thoughtful and thought provoking keynote speech to more than 40 farmers, community organizers, officials, and business owners.  The occassion was a ground breaking of a 100 acre solar farm being developed in Edgecombe County, just outside of the incorporated town of Tarboro.

The congressman shared "the time for investment in solar energy is now" and "Solar Noir is an example of how rural communities can take part in this rapidly growing industry."

Dr. Parker, President of Solar Noir and 510nano Inc agreed that "This project is significant for all the participants and is being brought about by them as well.  Through attention to detail and focus, we will see the completion of the project by the end of the first quarter 2015"

The planning board recommended that the facility, known as Solar Noir, be provided permits for zoning earlier in August.  A public hearing for the final vote will be held later this month.  The town will benefit due to the local hires and associated business activities and supplies.

The business plan for the first phase is to build 50 acres to supply both Edgecombe Martin EMC and Tarboro Utilities with power.  The facility is seeking to use energy storage strategies to provide the highest benefit to residence in the area.

Solar Noir is an energy project designed to assist socially disadvantaged farmers.  Solar Noir is a joint venture of partners 510nano Inc, the Gray Group LLC, Sun Manor Farmers LLC, and Carthage Investment Group.  The partners are excited about the impact that will be had on the farmers, the county, the town, the industry and North Carolina.
