ROY, Utah - Sept. 14, 2014 - PRLog -- Murphy Door Inc is proud to have anchored its spot as the leading manufacturer of Bookcase Door Systems in the world.  And is celebrating this event with Free Shipping on ALL products (intercontinetal USA)  Last year Murphy Door Inc. was the first to release its plans for the DIY'er to build their own bookcase for Free, at www.themurphydoor.com.  This is a first in the industry, where a company has released their proprietary plans to consumers, allowing the general public to replicate their products by using Murphy Door Inc. patented hardware systems.

Murphy Door offers three types of bookcase doors, a Flush Mount door, which is a door that installs into an existing doorway available in an inswing or outswing door in 30", 32" or 36" sizes as standard sizes creating upto 21 cu ft. of space. Murphy Door's Surface Mount door, which is a bifolding bookcase door that sits in front of any opening or undesirable utiltiy panel, gun safe, etc.  This patented bookcase door can open with ease holding upto 300 lbs. creating upto 42 cu ft. of space,  and still operate smoothly, the Surface Mount is available in a 4', 5' or 6' width standard.   The newest addition to our selection is the French Door, this bookcase is a double hung bookcase door system available in 4', 5' and 6' sizes as standard, in an inswing or outswing. The French Door system is a great replacement for existing bipass, or bifolding doors in the typical closet.  This unique system creates upto 42 cu ft. of storage in a door space that has only been used to hold doors, now this incredible system allows the owner to have a beautiful show piece of furniture where they can display their awards, pictures or books.  Each one of the doors is capable of upto 300 lbs of weight.  These are  the new standard in closet door systems.

Murphy Door has launched its first global advertising campaign on several airplanes, which will be viewed over 2 Million times a month for the next 3 months.  If you have not had an opportunity to see it here is the link: http://youtu.be/EXhG8sS75IA?list=PLsg2wSqi3icBSsE5NyyU_0u...

In a recent visit with Von Draheim, the production manager at Murphy Door Inc., we asked Mr. Draheim what he attributes the success of Murphy Door in comparison to their competitors.  Mr Draheim responded with, "It's easy, Murphy Door has spent years perfecting their systems, making our doors easy to install for almost anyone with little experience.  We deliver only top of the line furniture grade bookcase doors, with all the parts required to finish your job."  This sounds simple enough  to understand but I still asked him to clarify.  Mr Draheim stated, "Some companies try hard to get their prices where ours are, and still keep it MADE IN THE USA, this is difficult for others to do with our volume discounts.  So they have to make concessions in order to do so, like not including the jamb in the price of your door then adding $200.00, then adding another $200.00 for trim.  So when you get your door it shows up unassembled without a jamb and no trim, the hardware is not installed, this requires alot more experience and time on the customer's end as well as a sacrifice in workmanship, materials and hardware.  Competitors use hinges that do not have bearings and use bolts as a pivot pin.  The downside to a bolt for a pivot is they strip over time causing the door to sag, and making it impossible to remove your door when you need to move something big in."

Murphy Door's growth rate over the past two years is over 600%. I asked Jeremy G Barker the CEO of Murphy Door Inc. what he credits the great success to and he stated, "With the increase in homeowners downsizing their homes to more affordable and manageable home sizes, the demand for creative storage solutions has increased.  Murphy Door has enabled homeowners, architects, and designers, in single family homes to massive apartment and condo complexes the opportunity to have dual purpose openings.  The misconception in a Murphy Door is that they are for hiding things or a secret passage or panic room, which in the past has been something we sold exclusively, we still do an excellent job in this arena but the downfall is only about 1% of the population needs this type of product.  In the creative storage space, 99% of the population can use more space.  All of our products give owners the opportunity to create space out of doorways."

In recent studies, we have found that the average sq. footage for a home in New York City is 1124 sq. ft. with prices upto $1000.00 per sq. ft.  The average cost per sq. foot in these major metropolitan cities is over $200 sq. ft.  when taking to account the typical bedroom size is 10'x10' and the bedrooms having 1 wall with a window, 1 with a closet, 1 with a bathroom door and 1 with door in, this leaves little space after you place your bed, armoire and nightstand for anything else.  Bookcase doors can use these doorways like the closet, bathroom and entry door for decorations as well as storage.  An average 3' door requires 9 sq. ft to operate, this means we spend an average of $1800.00 for the sq. ft. required to operate our doors, when a door's sole purpose is keeping us and others from seeing what is on the other side.  Now replace this door with a bookcase door and here is what we have.  we have 21 sq. ft of storage, decorations on the wall, and a door that prevents people from seeing what is on the other side.  Door way space is an incredible way to use all the space our home has to offer.

When we asked Mr. Barker why he felt that bookcase doors have not been more frequently used in home construction in the past he stated, "That's simple, these doors have always been for the wealthy, with the average cost ranging from $3000 to $20,000.  With every door requiring a specialty contractor to install, Murphy Door has been diligent in their designs and production to not only reduce our average cost but make the doors simple to install.  All of our products can be installed by a homeowner with some construction knowledge and any finish carpenter and cabinet contractor.  We ship all of our standard doors with the exception of the french door prehung, the flush mount door is installed exactly like an interior door, our door sizes are built to fit the standard door openings in all of our homes, the rough framing requirements are the same and available on our website as well.  Our Surface mount doors are delivered with all the hardware on them.  Simply fasten the threshold on the ground, tilt up your bookcase and mount your door following our installation video online.  Our french doors are delivered with the hardware pre installed, simply assemble the 4 piece jamb, install your jamb exactly like a typical french door, hang your bookcase doors using our patented bearing and slip pin system and install your trim, it is that easy,"  Mr. Barker say's with enthusiasm.

Murphy Door is thrilled with the increased demand of its products by consumers around the globe, with customer such as contractors buying prehung flush mount doors and installing them as standard options in their homes, setting them apart from the competition, cabinet makers buying both the hardware to build their own custom bookcase or a bookcase door that they finish to match a job they are building,  and mass housing projects including their doors in areas such as furnace rooms, kitchen pantries and utility rooms, thus enabling projects to maximize every square foot of their project.  With this huge increase, Murphy Door is offering a FREE SHIPPING promotion on everything they offer for a very limited time.

Currently Murphy Doors are being delivered in 7-30 days on their standard orders, they are offered in 5 wood types, Paint Grade, Alder, Oak, Cherry and Maple.  They offer 5 finishes as well, unfinished so you can match to your needs or Natural, which is a clear, Medium, Dark or Cherry.  All of Murphy Doors finishes are furniture grade stains and laquers, they have a minimum of 2 coats of laquer on every door making all of their products a fine furniture grade product.  Act now before the Free shipping promotion is gone and the wait for your custom doors is too long.
