ZenOSmosis Aims to Become a Natural Language Hub for the Internet

Sept. 13, 2014 - PRLog -- ZenOSmosis is leveraging the service offerings of several “major technology giants” in order to create an interactive voice and text driven assistant who is not tied down to any particular device or operating system; who not only understands spoken words and typed text, but can dispatch those requests to related 3rd party service providers in order to fulfill such requests – from information gathering, interactive teleconference controlling, to online ordering – all by using voice or text messaging.

Though natural language processing research has historically been invested in by billions of dollars from major software companies, various API endpoint providers who have already benefited from such research are repackaging the tooling in order to drive additional profits from startup companies who themselves could benefit from such research and develop their own unique twist.

“That's where we come in,” says Jeremy Harris, developer at zenOSmosis. “Our intention is to not only benefit from this research ourselves, but to connect to other providers online and form an ecosystem of information exchange that can be facilitated through common spoken or typed language. We're utilizing input from teleco providers to be able to interact with our system from a regular telephone; which doesn't have to be any particular smartphone, or even a smartphone at all; as well as working with audio streams that originate online.”

“When we first conceptualized the idea of zenOSmosis in 2010, our motto was to 'build on the shoulders of giants'. In the vastness of the internet, we're nobody, but by using the big vendors we're hooked up with, we are in a way creating a form of a remote control that moves the collective system as if it were some sort of 'big robot'”.

ZenOSmosis is working on launching a prototype that can be accessed directly from their website; and telephone; and use that prototype to help bring additional 3rd party service providers on board, especially businesses which cater to order fulfillment and autonomous services.

ZenOSmosis' initial vision was to create an interactive whiteboard of idea and information exchange. “We've always wanted to be a communications company, and we've experimented a lot with various paradigms and concepts until we decided that we wanted to turn our focus onto natural language processing last year [2013],” says Harris.
