Follow on Google News | The Adventure has Begun...Forge On!By: Forge 54 Playworks SoCal is an organization that aims to create a wholesome environment on the playground. They are currently serving 26 local low-income schools by implementing a full-time program that teaches children valuable skills like teamwork through innovative and inclusive games with the goal of reducing conflict and restoring harmony in classrooms. Forge 54’s goal in the next 54 hours is to raise awareness across the nation about the benefits of Playworks SoCal for the local community. Forge 54 aims to do this through high-quality social campaigns, an updated website, public relations plans, and a new mobile app called Playbook by Playworks (http://www.playworks.org/ “The opportunity to have all of our PR, Marketing, Video, and Branding in one place at one time is something that a non-profit just never gets…I’ve already gained more than I possibly would have gotten…this would take me 5, 7, 10 years to get all of this at one time, it’s just a blessing,” states LaVal Brewer, Executive Director of Playworks SoCal. Last year, Forge 54 had a total of 46 volunteers. Together they were able to successfully help the Orange County Food Bank located in Southern California. Under the tutelage of the Forge 54 founders and advisory board, volunteers completely rebranded the local non-profit in just 54 hours. Assets included a new logo, slogan, two commercials, and an entirely new website with an easier platform for collecting donations. This high-energy event takes place at DGWB, an advertising firm that has donated its space located in Santa Ana, California. This event launched on Friday, September 12, 2014 at noon and will continue through Sunday, September 14, 2014 at 6:00pm PST. Concluding the 54 hours will be a private reveal of all products exhibited to the client, sponsors, and the rest of the team members. Asal Bahrami, a member of the Forge 54 social media team, commented, “I used to work at the Boys and Girls club and saw how important play is for kids. I wanted to be a part of this weekend because I also get more experience in learning marketing.” Bahrami is a first time volunteer.
