Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Insurance, the Largest Single P&C Insurance Company in Japan Established

SHINJUKU-KU, Japan - Sept. 11, 2014 - PRLog -- Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Insurance Inc., the largest single P&C insurance company in Japan, was established today. In conjunction with this establishment, the NKSJ Group has been rebranded as the Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Group.

1. Establishment of Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Insurance Inc.

On September 1, 2014 Sompo Japan Insurance Inc. and NIPPONKOA Insurance Company, Limited merged into Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Insurance Inc., which has the largest market share in term of premiums written as a single P&C insurance company in Japan.

2. Changes of names of group companies

On September 1, 2014 NKSJ Holdings, Inc. changed its name to Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Holdings, Inc. and NKSJ Himawari Life Insurance, Inc. changed its name to Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Himawari Life Insurance, Inc.
