KENT, Ohio - Sept. 11, 2014 - PRLog -- Once again, Kent State University’s College of Business Administration earned a coveted spot in the 2015 rankings for Best Undergraduate Business Programs by U.S. News & World Report, ranking 155 on the prestigious list, improving from last year’s ranking of 159.

Over the past two decades, the U.S. News college ranking has become one of the most comprehensive research tools for students and parents considering higher education opportunities.

“I am pleased that U.S. News & World Report has again recognized Kent State’s College of Business Administration and that our ranking continues to improve”, said Kent State College of Business Administration Dean Deborah F. Spake.  “For five years in a row, we have received a spot in the top 175 best business programs, moving up in ranking throughout the years, and this year ranking four notches above last year’s rank.  As students and parents consider business colleges, this much respected independent source reinforces the high quality of the business faculty, programs and support services at Kent State.”

Business colleges are ranked (http://www.usnews.com/education/best-colleges/articles/20...) on up to 16 measures of academic excellence. Outcome-related measures, such as graduation and retention rates, account for 30 percent of the rankings and are the most heavily weighted factors in the methodology used by U.S. News & World Report. Kent State’s College of Business Administration reported a 3 percent increase in fall enrollment and a freshman retention rate of 83.8 percent, up from 80 percent last year.  With total enrollment of 4,502, it is one of the larger colleges at Kent State University.

The College of Business Administration maintains prestigious Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB) dual accreditation in both business and accounting, an honor earned by fewer than 1 percent of business colleges and schools worldwide.

The U.S. New & World Report rankings, which include more than 1,500 schools nationwide, will appear in the 2015 edition of the Best Colleges Guidebook, available on newsstands later this month.
