Teaming Together To Help Veterans with TBI

BROOMFIELD, Colo. - Sept. 11, 2014 - PRLog -- The American Legion, Colorado District 5 is partnering with Rocky Mountain Hyperbaric Association for Brain Injuries Inc, with a fundraiser on September 27^th to help support veterans who sustained traumatic brain and PTSD injuries during the fight against Terrorism.

All fund raising and District’s Fall Formal Dinner/Dance events will be held at American Legion Post 11-11, 9959 Old Wadsworth Blvd, Broomfield CO 80021, beginning at 6:00 pm. There is a cost of $15 per person or $25 per couple, payable at the door.

District 5 represents approximately 30 American Legion Posts and over 5000 members that are located throughout central Colorado. The American Legion, Department of Colorado and its Legionnaires have been supporting, since 2009, the “Healing our Heroes Program,” which focuses on using hyperbaric oxygen therapy as a supplemental treatment to other medical protocols that the veterans may currently be on, to alleviate the problems associated with this signature injury.

Veterans with TBI/PTSD injuries, if accepted, receive this treatment free of charge. In addition, if the veteran is from out of town or out of state, they provide them with a place to live during the time that they are undergoing the 40 dive treatment sessions.
