SAN RAMON, Calif. - Sept. 10, 2014 - PRLog -- RainSaucers Inc. a manufacturer of free-standing rainwater catchment systems, announced today the launch of the 84-inch RainSaucer. With a catchment rate of 27-gallons-per-inch of rain, the 84-inch RainSaucer is four times larger than the first version of the product introduced in 2011, covering 300 percent more surface area. This makes it ideal for small-to-medium scale commercial and agricultural applications, such as urban farms and community gardens.

The availability of RainSaucers’ largest rainwater catchment system comes at a significant time, with states like California and Texas considered to be experiencing ‘severe’ to ‘exceptional’ drought, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor report. As Jim Gildea, manager of the Bigelow Tea community garden puts it “RainSaucers now provides a way to collect rainwater on a large scale without tapping into other water resources. This is exactly what we’ve been waiting for. With this solution, members of the community have plenty of water on hand to continue growing and harvesting the fruits of their garden.”

The patent-pending, U.S.-made RainSaucer works by collecting rain straight from the sky and funneling it into virtually any storage medium. This results in rainwater collection that is:

·         Clean: Due to the cleanable, food-safe surface of the RainSaucer

·         Simple: The DIY setup takes 30 minutes using a screwdriver and wrench

·         Flexible: The system can be placed anywhere water will be needed

“The large size and fast fill rate make it a legitimate roof alternative,” said Tom Spargo, RainSaucers concept inventor. “Our 84-inch version will fill your typical 55-gallon rain barrel with just two inches of rain. A good rain storm will fill the barrel just like a roof. This means customers looking for a roof contaminant-free alternative do not have to sacrifice quantity for quality.”

The 84-inch RainSaucer is available immediately for $195, plus shipping, through the RainSaucers website at www.rainsaucers.com
