JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Sept. 9, 2014 - PRLog -- Retirement Communities of Central Florida, LLC is expanding into Northeast Florida with the purchase of two assisted living facilities in Jacksonville.

The Atlanta-based owner and operator of ALFs has purchased Wiley Retirement Home and San Juan Retirement Home for a combined $3.4 million with plans to expand.

Retirement Communities of Central Florida acquired the facilities through two limited liability companies, Noble House Retirement of Jacksonville LLC and Noble Gardens of Jacksonville LLC. Bianca Evans of Transworld Business Advisors facilitated the transaction, which closed on Aug. 7.

Wiley Retirement Homes, at 7024 Wiley Road, has since been renamed Noble Gardens, and San Juan Retirement Home, at 6561 San Juan Ave., is now Noble House.

“We had been looking for properties in Florida that we could add too,” said Rhonda Hatley, area operations manager for the new ownership group.

The owners have not finalized expansion plans for the facilities but Hatley expects to double workforce of 15 to 18 workers at each facility now. Owners will likely add 60 semi-private rooms to the 33 existing units at Noble House within a year. The facility is now full.

Owners plan to add 40 private rooms to the 31 existing units at Noble Garden within the next 18 months. It is now 85 percent occupied.

“We’re listening to what the market says and what the needs are,” Hatley said. That could include providing care for residents with brain injuries who are as young as their mid-30s, compared with the average resident of 75 years old.

Of two million traumatic brain injuries (TBI) each year, 70,000 to 90,000 survivors will have lifelong disabilities, according to The Center for Head Injury Services. Two-thirds of survivors will live a normal span of life, but will require life long services such as vocational rehabilitation and physical therapy, according to the St. Louis, Mo.-based nonprofit provider of  vocational, medical and independent living services.

Retirement Communities of Central Florida provides “caring from the heart” for all of its residents, and plans to make its new Jacksonville facilities feel more warm and friendly, in accordance with that mission.

“We want it to be like a home setting for them,” Hatley said. “We give more attention to care.”

Noble House and Noble Gardens will undergo minor renovations before holding grand re-openings in late November. For more information, email noblehousegardensjax@gmail.com. Or, call 904-695-9605 for Noble House or 904-374-2071 for Wiley Noble Gardens.
