Follow on Google News | New Fitness Manager Introduces New Programming To Ocean County Retirement CommunityHarrogate Partners with National Institute for Fitness and Sport
By: GlynnDevins In addition to hiring its first Fitness Manager, Harrogate also partnered with the National Institute for Fitness and Sports (NIFS), which will restructure the senior living community’s fitness and exercise programs and offerings for the residents. To incorporate the NIFS programming, Harris will set up senior fitness evaluations with all interested residents to assess each person’s fitness needs. From the evaluation, individual goals will be established for staying active. All results will be tracked to monitor each resident’s progress. Harris will also be providing exercise assistance for residents who need a little extra help during their fitness activities. Harrogate is set to bring new wellness and fitness programming to its community later this year. “The best part about this new programming is that residents will be able to benefit immediately,” Harris, who graduated from Eastern University in 2009 with a degree in exercise science, came to Harrogate from Meridian Fitness and Wellness, where she worked as an exercise physiologist. Prior to that, Harris worked at Fox Rehabilitation for two years, where she was first introduced to working with seniors. “The active aging population has always been my favorite to work with,” Harris said. “They have so much knowledge and experience to offer. And so much gratitude for the help you give them.” About Harrogate Harrogate provides Ocean County seniors with a unique lifestyle experience highlighted by a variety of residential options, including beautifully remodeled independent living apartment homes. Harrogate also features in-home care and skilled nursing and rehab on its campus.
