GATES Breaks Ground on Silverspot Cinema Chapel Hill

NAPLES, Fla. - Sept. 9, 2014 - PRLog -- (July 2014) – GATES Construction (http://www.gatesinc.com/) has broken ground on a new Silverspot Cinema at the University Mall in Chapel Hill, NC. The 67,000 square foot luxury theater will house 13 screens, approximately 1,500 lush leather seats, restaurant and lounge with a full bar. Located in the space previously occupied by Dillard’s, the project scope includes the demolition of the original tenant space in order to raise the roof with an entirely new interior structure to meet the clearance requirements for the theater’s advanced projection screens. Architectural design is being provided by Kansas City, MO based iConArchitecture + Fabrication (http://www.icon-architecture.com/). In conjunction with the Silverspot Cinema project, GATES is also constructing an additional retail space for use by a future tenant. Silverspot is scheduled for completion in May 2015.

This marks the second Silverspot Cinema project for the Bonita Springs, Florida based GATES Construction who completed the 150-seat theater addition at the Silverspot Cinema at Mercato in Naples, Florida last summer.
