Babe’s Chicken Dinner House receives Web Marketing Association Award

Babe’s Chicken Dinner House is the recipient of a 2014 Internet Advertising Competition (IAC) Award for Outstanding Restaurant Website.  Produced by the Web Marketing Association, IAC Awards recognize online advertising excellence in a wide variety of industry categories.  Imaginuity Interactive entered their work for client Babe’s Chicken Dinner House (“Babe’s”) in the competition’s restaurant category.  Entries are judged on the basis of creativity, innovation, impact, design, copywriting, use of medium and memorability.  Awards are given to entries that panelists rate as best in each industry category.

Back in Q4 of 2012, Babe’s engaged Imaginuity Interactive to design their website.  “Translating the local feel of our restaurants while articulating the culture, values and experience of Babe’s were top priorities for Tiffany, Joel and me,” said Paul Vinyard, Babe’s owner and founder.  “The Babe’s brand and culture is sacred to us. We’re a family-run business and wanted an agency that honored our traditions.  Everything we do in our restaurants is hand-made and designed to anticipate the needs to our guests. We create a fun, wholesome experience that brings our customers back. We wanted a website that replicated that experience.”  In summing up the collaboration, Vinyard commented, “We launched the new site in February, 2013.   Engaging with the Imaginuity family has proven a great choice for us.”

The Babe’s Chicken Dinner House website articulates the custom feel of their brand. With the hand-illustrated typography and individual custom location pages that generate great organic search engine traffic the website not only replicates the look and feel the restaurants, but performs.  “We enjoy our collaboration, and are happy to have the site receive this recognition,” said Corbett Guest, CEO Imaginuity. “From a strategic stand point our team planned and developed a very, location focused Web presence that includes unique content, photography and design elements from each location to mirror the Babe’s experience. Although the design and implementation are custom, we chose a WordPress based CMS platform so that the Babe’s team can manage the content easily, and stay in front of their customers. ”

In 1981 Paul and Mary Beth Vinyard opened their first Country Cooking restaurant and named it Bubba’s, after Paul’s nickname. On April 22, 1993 they opened their second restaurant and named it Babe’s Chicken Dinner House, located in a 1908 warehouse in Roanoke, Texas. “Babe” was Mary Beth’s nickname; she developed the recipes used in every location. Their children Tiffany and Joel Vinyard continue to honor that legacy with Paul, growing to 11 locations including Bubba’s, Babes Chicken Dinner House, and Sweetie Pie’s throughout Texas.
