Asheville’s Signarama Installs Self Help Credit Union’s New Signs in WNC

Asheville, NC - Asheville’s Signarama has completed building and installing news signage for Self-Help Credit Union’s 10 Western NC branches in NC and 1 one in Galax Va. The new signs were necessitated by Self-Help’s recent name rebranding.

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Sept. 9, 2014 - PRLog -- “After Self-Help Credit Union merged with United Services Credit Union, having already merged with Carolina Mountains Credit Union, we needed a consolidated ‘brand/image’ to better unify and serve members of all three credit unions under the Self-Help name,” explained Jane Hatley, WNC Regional Director of Self-Help Credit Union.  “Self-Help’s Durham team has worked with Signarama and suggested them for the WNC Self-Help Credit Union branch rebranding work.”

The new signs make Self-Help Credit Union branches more visible to its members and the public. Self-Help is a non-profit community development leader whose mission is to help individuals and families build and protect wealth through ownership. Self-Help offers checking and savings accounts, money market accounts, certificates of deposit (including specialty ones, such as its “Women and Children,” “Green,” and “Go Local” CDs), personal loans, credit building loans, and other products which pay back into the communities of our members.

“Working with Self-Help Credit Union is a pleasure.  Seeing the impact that they are having in the communities is wonderful and we’re humbled to be part of their team. Sherry and her team are great to work with.” commented Ed Sullivan owner of Asheville Signarama.

“Ed Sullivan and his staff at Signarama were proactive, timely and affordable for a non-profit like Self-Help,” said Self-Help Project Manager Sherry Kinlaw. “This was a tricky project requiring uniquely sized signs at nearly all 11 locations including  Asheville, Morganton, Fletcher, Hendersonville, Rosman, Hendersonville, Old Fort, Maiden and even one Virginia branch. Signarama did the job with barely a glitch.”

Self-Help makes all types of loans, including home mortgages, and has special expertise in lending to green businesses, child cares, non-profits, and charter schools. Some  local Self-Help borrowers include Salsa’s, Casa dei Bambini, Regent Park Early Childhood Development Center, West End Bakery, the French Broad Food Coop, Blue Ridge Biofuels, Hops and Vines, Studio Flora Diva, Enter the Earth, FLS Energy, and the Glen Rock Commercial Building.

Signarama also created a sign for the new Hendersonville Food Coop, a project financed in part by Self-Help.  This and other local economic development initiatives such as the FLS Energy solar site in Henderson County (also financed by Self-Help) will be celebrated at a community event Tuesday September 23 at 11 am at the Self-Help Credit Union Hendersonville branch, located at 855 Spartanburg Highway, Hendersonville.  Called “Growing Henderson County Strong”, event participants will include economic development leaders, elected officials and others. The public is welcome. For more information, contact Amber Justice, Self-Help Credit Union Branch Manager, at (828) 233-1140 x3440.
