LOS ANGELES - Sept. 8, 2014 - PRLog -- LOS ANGELES (Sept. 8, 2014) – Garlo’s Aussie Pie Shop, a celebrated name in Australian meat pies, will open its first American location in Westwood Village. Opening on September 15, renowned executive pie chef Nathan Garlick and his famed brother and former Australian rugby league star Sean Garlick will offer a true taste of Australia with a variety of handheld savory and sweet pies baked fresh daily. The casual eatery, which also features a gourmet espresso bar, will welcome guests for an authentic Aussie experience in the heart of Westwood.

“We’re excited to bring the most authentic Australian pies and our own family recipes to America,” said Nathan Garlick. “I’ve been making meat pies all my life, and can’t wait to show Los Angeles how a meat pie is done down under.”

Garlo’s started as a small bakery in Maroubra, an inner suburb of Sydney, in 2001 and took the city by storm with its unique, high-quality pies. Voted as the best pie in Sydney by locals, Garlo’s quickly became available in supermarkets, hotels and cafes. With more than 25,000 Garlo’s pies sold every day in Australia, the family-run business has ventured to America to spread the Garlick tradition.

Menu items include Aussie favorites such as Lean Beef, Chicken and Vegetable, Steak, Vegetarian and select breakfast pies and pastries such as Bacon and Egg as well as Mushroom, Spinach and Cheese. Garlo’s will also serve a variety of mini snack pies with American twists such as the Mac and Cheese and the Sausage Roll. To make the perfect pair, guests can enjoy a cup of freshly brewed coffee or espresso blended and imported from Italy, just the way Aussies like it.

Garlo’s Aussie Pie Shop brings an energetic vibe inspired by the colors, sights and sounds of Australia, and features photos of the Garlick family lining the walls. With an open kitchen and coffee bar, guests can see Chef Nathan and his team baking fresh pies on the spot.

Garlo’s will serve handheld meals and gourmet coffee for breakfast, lunch and dinner at affordable prices, with prices ranging from $3-$8, Monday-Friday from 6 a.m.-9 p.m., Saturday from 7 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m-9 p.m. Delivery, curbside pickup and catering will be available for meetings, social gatherings and other special events.
