Writers Resource Center Presents Workshop on Constructive Critique for Writers

WRC becomes affiliated with the Independent Book Publishers Association; Founder Janie P. Bess will help plan the county's new "BookFest."

FAIRFIELD, Calif. - Sept. 8, 2014 - PRLog -- How to critique a writer’s work constructively will be the focus of the next Writers Resource Center’s (WRC) workshop.  The seminar entitled “The ABC’s of Critiquing” will be taught by WRC founder and author Janie P. Bess.  The event will take place on Saturday, September 13, from 10 am to 12 noon, at 1745 Enterprise Drive, Fairfield, in the conference room next to the He Brews It coffee shop. "I will give tips on how to analyze, make suggestions, and give encouragement to anyone trying to write a manuscript,” Bess says.

Authors interested in having their work critiqued should bring a five-page excerpt from something they have written and a laptop or other device or supplies to participate in writing exercises.

WRC Becomes an Affiliate of the Independent Book Publishing Association

WRC became an affiliate of the Independent Book Publishing Association (IBPA) recently.  IBPA is a national organization based in California.  It provides dozens of services to those who self publish or run an independent publishing house, including free consultation; cooperative marketing programs targeting book buyers and sellers; numerous educational seminars, and other events.

“BookFest Solano” Committee


Bess is a new member of the Solano County Library Foundation’s “BookFest Solano” celebration coming up next April.  She will help plan marketing and publicity for the event.
