NEW YORK - Sept. 8, 2014 - PRLog -- A company built on poop jokes might seem an unlikely source to take on such a serious subject, but the executives at Shittens.com feel just the opposite.

"We were genuinely sickened to hear of the attack on this autistic boy," said Richie Wilson, CEO. "I originally invented Shittens out of necessity, as a person who struggles daily with Crohn's disease.  While Shittens are useful for everyone, the outpouring of gratitude we've gotten from those with Crohn's and Colitis, those in elderly care, disabled population, and most overwhelmingly the Autistic community has been humbling. We took pride in donating our product to colon cancer and autism fundraisers this year. Our heart goes out to this boy and while we're still a fledgling company, we want to contribute in some small way towards finding the bullies who perpetrated this horrific crime."

"As a Cleveland native myself, I'm outraged," adds CMO, Rachel Fine. "This isn't a childhood prank, this is abuse. We stand behind the Bay Village Police Department and hope that justice is served swiftly."

The video of the so called "prank" shows the teen standing outside a garage door in his underwear when someone from the rooftop dumps a bucket of murky brown fluid over his head.

The 15-year-old boy's mother told CNN affiliate WJW the video was discovered on her son's cell phone.

"He was embarrassed because he did not know what the contents were until afterwards, and then he didn't want anybody to know," the mother said. "They used his phone to tape it, and they put it up on Instagram."

This atrocity is based on the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, where volunteers get a bucket of ice water poured over their heads. The campaign raises awareness and donations for ALS research.

The teen's family said they want the teens behind the twisted ALS challenge held accountable.

"The bucket challenge is supposed to be raising awareness for this disease and now they’ve turned it into a sick joke," Diane said. "I just can’t understand why kids would do something this cruel."

The Bay Village Police Department has been interviewing witnesses and trying to identify those involved.  Detective Kevin Krolkosky said the youths suspected of bullying the 15-year-old could face criminal delinquency charges.
