Strong UK performance leads the +6% year-on-year growth for Printer Hardware shipments

Sept. 8, 2014 - PRLog -- London - Unit shipments to Western Europe continue to register positive year-on-year growth of +6% in Q2 2014, according to data published by CONTEXT, the European IT market research company. This was mostly due to strong performance of Multi-function Laser and Inkjet printers in UK and Netherlands. Unit shipments of Printer Hardware to UK and Netherlands increased by +25% and +14 year-on-year in Q2 2014.

Furthermore, the continuous year-on-year Printer Hardware unit shipments growth saw UK surpass France, making the UK the 2nd largest Printer Hardware market in Western Europe. In the Middle East and Africa region, year-on-year unit shipments of Printer Hardware recorded +5% year-on-year increase in Q2 2014, where UAE, Saudi Arabia and South Africa registered double-digit year-on-year unit shipments growth for the quarter.


“In contrast, unit shipments of Printer Hardware to Central and Eastern Europe continued to decline by -19% year-on-year in Q2 2014, with the majority of CEE countries registered a negative performance for the quarter”, said Zivile Brazdziunaite, Imaging Market Analyst at CONTEXT.

Russia, the largest market in the region, registered a decline of -15% year-on-year, with Laser SFP unit shipments declined the strongest. Unit shipments of Printer Hardware to Ukraine also declined by -44%, due to continuous political instability.
