Sept. 5, 2014 - PRLog -- BEVERLY HILLS, CA / Announced Tuesday, August 26, 2014, two televised interviews through NBC New York Live and Good Morning America ABC with Author Renate Stoever for her book “Escape From Plauen” and the “Indiegogo” campaign. The interviews look to bring awareness and support to the adaptation of her Book to Feature Film with Solaris Entertainment, led by Agent Alan Morell, Creative Management Partners. NBC New York Live airs September 10th, 2014 at 12:30 pm EST and Good Morning America ABC to air September 14th, 2014 at 8:00 am EST.

“Escape from Plauen”, www.escapefromplauen.com is a true account of survival and escape from Germany during WW II. This is a true story about the ravages of war seen through the eyes of a 9-year-old girl in Plauen, Germany. World War II and the damage caused by this devastating war etched in our history forever. There are few people who lived through the atrocities and can tell the story. Renate Stoever is a true survivor and her book is a testament to the human spirit.

Solaris Entertainment, an Oscar nominated film and television production company, who creates and produces its own content, has optioned the rights through Agent Alan Morell Creative Management Partners for adaptation to a movie for “Escape from Plauen” by Renate Stoever published this past March by iBooks and available at Barnes & Noble, BAM!, Amazon, and the finest booksellers.

Said Solaris Entertainment CEO/Producer Greg O’Connor: “I am very excited about the prospects of the book “Escape from Plauen” adaptation to a movie of this incredible story. When Renate Stoever’s Agent Alan Morell presented Renate’s true story to us, knowing my interest in history and in WW II, we thought it was worthy of serious consideration. After reading the book I thought Ms. Stoever’s story was a remarkable journey that could make a powerful film, so were very pleased to option the rights.”

Said Agent Alan Morell: “Escape From Plauen is a historical gem. It reminds its readers of the events that took place in post world war Germany. Events that have made lasting impressions on the way the country was shaped, and the way our global diplomacy has progressed since those times. Historical records give merit to the relationships our world holds, and without them the validity of our past would be scarce. Escape from Plauen has been regarded as a value of merit.”

About the Author Renate Stoever:

Renate Stoever was born in The German city of Plauen in the state of Saxony before the start of the Second World War. Renate’s early childhood was safe and happy, but all that changed drastically during and after World War II. Those years were a constant struggle to stay alive.

At the end of the war, Renate’s home state was first occupied by American troops, but six weeks later, Russian troops moved in due to the Allies decision at the Yalta conference in February 1945. Consequently, Renate’s part of Germany became known as Communist East Germany.

Renate’s father Kurt fled to West Germany in the spring of 1947. Braving ice, snow and great danger, Renate, her mother Gertraud and little sister Margit, followed him Christmas 1947.

After 5 years of living in primitive barracks outside a charming, medieval Bavarian town in the American Sector of West Germany, Renate and her family emigrated to The United States of America in 1953. Within a week of her 1953 arrival in the United States, Renate started a job beading moccasin-tops. A year later she used her artistic ability to become a top designer in the Lace and Embroidery industry, where she became the first female in a male-dominated profession. Life as a German immigrant was not easy, but through hard work and frugal living, Renate and her family, were able to create a new home, their first real home since 1945. Renate married Fred Stoever in 1962 and helped her husband establish a successful Wall Street firm. They became happy parents when their son Roland was born in 1971 and Renate became a stay-at-home Mom.

In time Renate started to paint, specializing in flowers and Native American themes, which resulted in a lot of exhibits and interviews with TV News Media. After winning a writing competition in the “New Yorker Staats Zeitung”, a German-American weekly newspaper, friends encouraged Renate to spend more time writing.
