Catholic Charities of West Tennessee's 2014 Holy Family Award Winners Named

 
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Sept. 5, 2014 - PRLog -- Catholic Charities of West Tennessee (CCWTN) today announced its Holy Family Award honorees for 2014. “Awarded annually, the Holy Family Award is the highest honor CCWTN bestows and it recognizes the efforts of individuals, groups or organizations who have sought to advance the work of Catholic Charities of West Tennessee.  Each of these honorees are most deserving, inspire us and through their active support allow us to grow,” said Mike Allen, President and CEO of CCWTN.

This year’s honorees are:

Good Samaritan

o   Richard Lynch: A long time Board Member and volunteer at CCWTN, Richard is especially close to the children who attend our our annual Camp Love & Learn program and to the beneficiaries of our Fig Tree / Emergency Services program.

Philanthropic Partner

o   Ladies of Charity of Memphis: For many years, the Ladies of Charity have provided monthly financial aid in support to of our Fig Tree / Emergency Services program, as well as the broader needs of our agency.

Community Collaborator

o   Mid-South Food Bank: Through collaborative efforts with the Mid-South Food Bank, CCWTN has dramatically expanded its reach in the delivery of emergency food supplies since 2010. Whether through CCWTN’s mobile food pantry efforts, “walking bags” for the homeless of mid-town, increased focus on at-risk Seniors or joint large-scale food distributions in impacted communities like Hickory Hill and Whitehaven, the Mid-South Food Bank has been an innovative and proactive partner in every sense of the word.

Each honoree will be acknowledged and presented with their award on Saturday evening December 13th as a part of CCWTN’s annual Christmas Concert at the Cannon Center in downtown Memphis.
