Follow on Google News | Innovation Express Shakes and Stirs Coimbatore's Future Bio-EntrepreneursBy: Association of Biotechnology Led Enterprises The aim of this program is to motivate the highly energetic, skilled and self-confident student community, to instil and incite creative minds to build new ventures and support them. According to Dr. Renu Swarup, Advisor, DBT & MD, BIRAC, “the aim of the series is to spark an entrepreneurial interest in young minds and the selected universities will provide an ideal setting. After the first series of 8 talks in 4 university clusters, the program will be rolled out in several others”. After covering Jaipur and Chandigarh, Coimbatore was the third stop, the fourth leg will be held in Dharwad on Sep 15th and 16th. Lead coordinator Dr. K. Vijayaraghavan from Sathguru Management Consultants, laid out the “Roadmap to entrepreneurship” Dr R. Rajkumar, Director R&D, Cellzyme shared his successful journey of entrepreneurship, value of team building and shared his learnings on addressing issues related to funding and applying for grants. Mr. S. Vasanth Kumar, SKL Medtech discussed his multidisciplinary business diversification strategy to excite students to identify opportunities available and how to act upon them. Mr. P. Aditya from innovation 101 and ABLE BEST alumnus presented his learnings at AIIMS SBD and encouraged participants to consider challenges as opportunities. ABLE encouraged the students to apply for BEST and various BIRAC initiatives for young students to participate in technology challenges and in the ongoing call of its flagship scheme – Biotechnology Ignition Grant (BIG) and the social entrepreneurial initiative SPARSH which supports innovative ideas with grant-in-aid amount up to INR 50.00 lacs.
