Carrie Hammer Chooses Inspiration Over Tradition For Her Runway

NEW YORK - Sept. 4, 2014 - PRLog -- New York, NY, August 22, 2014 -- CARRIE HAMMER, the creator of her custom clothing line, BROKE THE MOLD at New York Fashion Week last February, when Dr. Danielle Sheypuk, and first-ever model in a wheelchair, made her debut at the CARRIE HAMMER February show. This September, CARRIE HAMMER will debut her brand new line, including one dress called Karen, named after Karen Crespo, a quadruple amputee. Crespo’s dream will come true as she walks the runway during the Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week wearing a Carrie Hammer original.

After Dr. Danielle Sheypuck appeared on the runway, Carrie received over 300 letters from women, thanking her for representing them on the runway. Among many letters received was one, written Karen Crespo who lost her limbs due to complications of meningitis. In November her new bionic arm prosthetics were stolen from her front porch. Carrie was instrumental in getting new prosthetics made for Karen in time to walk the runway.

The CARRIE HAMMER label is sponsored by "Fashion Law Institute" at Fordham Law School. At September’s show twenty-three looks designed in New York City will feature custom, classic, clothing to women for career life. The selected models will be REAL WORLD ROLE MODELS -- CEO's, philanthropists, reporters and now Karen Crespo an inspiration to many. The goal of CARRIE HAMMER is to revolutionize the way modern women dress. Founder and designer Carrie Hammer explains, “I’m really trying to help provide a destination and a brand where women can dress for their increasingly flexible lifestyles.”

Carrie Hammer graduated from the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program in 2012 under the leadership of The Tory Burch Foundation and Goldman Sachs, who will be in attendance.
